You do not have to become an expert on hallmarks to sell your silver. Photograph it, send it, and a team member tells you what it looks like and roughly what that is worth. Nothing is exact until it is on our scale and under the analyser. No sign-up, and nothing about it commits you to selling.

What makes a photo we can read

Get close to the mark. As close as your phone will focus, on the back of a handle or the underside of a base.
Take one of the whole piece too, so we can see what it is.
Do not polish it first. Polishing removes metal and can rub a faint mark away completely.
Daylight beats a flash. A flash bounces off silver and hides the very thing we are trying to read.

If a mark is worn away entirely, that is not a problem: put it in the plate pile. Every piece is tested with an XRF analyzer on camera when it arrives, and anything that turns out to be solid silver is paid at the live sterling rate instead.
